Charles E. (Charlie) Hagler, age 82, of Temple died Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at his residence. Masonic graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, December 18 at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches with Bridge City Masonic Lodge #1345 officiating. Visitation will be held 6:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple.

Mr. Hagler was born on August 7, 1927 in Standard, Louisiana to Clinton and Malva (Lockett) Hagler. He was reared and educated in Port Arthur and Groves. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Port Arthur. He served in the U. S. Army at the end of World War II. He worked for Bechtel Engineering and Howe Baker Engineering for many years retiring in 1989. He was a member of Bridge City Masonic Lodge #1345.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Randy Alan Hagler, a brother, Reggie Hagler and a sister, Barbara Dillard. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Dwight Hagler of Temple, one son, Larry Hagler and wife, Jamie of Beaumont, two stepsons, Jessie Dwight of Temple, Stephen Dwight of Houston, one stepdaughter, Debra Wakefield of Lonedell, Missouri, step granddaughter, Amanda Gonzales of LaPorte and a brother, Kenneth Hagler and wife, Carolyn of Vidor.
