Biography

Funeral services for Clarence E. (Doc) Baggett, Sr., 99, of Temple will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Remington Dean officiating. Burial will be in Bellwood Memorial Park.

Mr. Baggett died Wednesday in a Temple Nursing Home.

Mr. Baggett was born Dec. 3, 1910 to Silas L. Baggett and Fannie Freeland Baggett in Moody. He moved to Temple 78 years ago. He married Isabelle Hill July 25, 1952. She preceded him in death May 23, 2009. He was a conductor for Santa Fe Railroad. He retired in 1976 after 35 years of service. He was a member of Santa Fe Railroad UTU and was a member of Heights Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons C.E. Baggett Jr. of Mesquite; Mack Smith of Temple and Aubrey Smith of Temple; two daughters Ann Legan of Troy and Judy Dean of Florida; thirteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Monday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home.
