Biography

Funeral services for Henry E. Skala Jr, 53, of the Stringtown Community will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Father Ranjan Cletus officiating. Burial will be in Dyess Grove Cemetery.

Mr. Skala died Thursday in a Temple Hospital.

Mr. Skala was born in Temple June 3, 1957 to Henry E. Skala Sr. and Shirley Meier Skala. He graduated from Rogers High School in 1975 and from Texas A & M University in 1979 with a Bachelors Degree in Agricultural Education. He worked in the Field Operations of the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service in Crowell, Friona and Tulia, and in the Human Resource department in Temple. He married Jan Fojtasek June 25, 1988. He was a member of Greater Temple Area A & M Club, SPJST #47 in Seaton and St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Mr. Skala was preceded in death by his father Nov. 26, 1996 and by a brother Rayland Skala Oct. 30, 1986.

Survivors include his wife Jan Skala of the Stringtown Community; one son Carson Skala of the Stringtown Community; his mother Shirley Skala of the Stringtown Community and one brother Ronnie Skala of the Stringtown Community.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 P.M. and Rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M. Sunday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home.
