Kelly LaPeyre
I miss you mom. I can still hear your laugh and see you smile. It’s only been a few days and your voice is still loud and clear to me but as time goes it becomes harder to make out what you are saying.
Memories of you flash through my mind so quickly and I can’t really seem to grab hold of just one. At times they all run together. It feels as if I only have a short time to remember and view them all before they disappear, but they go flying by so fast without a pause.
I wonder, did I tell you “I love you” enough? Did I make the best use of our time together? Did I listen to your lessons and advice as well as I should have?
Time will tell. Rest in peace mom. It’s time you were rewarded for all you have done for us. I feel you have raised me well.

I know I have told you many times that you were not only my Mom, you were my best friend. You were always there to listen to me tell you my deepest secrets, fears and dreams. You always knew when to listen and when to give advice, which was always the best advice by the way. I will miss the times that we would sit and talk and share all of these things including all of the stories about your life from when you were growing up to the present. I am so glad that we had those times together. You have instilled in me morals, values and everything that I am. I hope that as you look down on me throughout the rest of my life that I am making you proud of me. You have always been and will always be my hero. You lived your life caring for others and were the toughest fighter I have ever known. I know that you are now with the angel (or as I like to call her “your angel”) that you told me you saw in the hospital who was looking over you. I love you Mom.

I remember several years ago, having to step in your position for a short time. What big shoes I had to fill. You truly ran the 603 office.
