Biography

Graveside services for Wayne Dale Baumbach, 73, of Moody will be held at 10:00 A.M.Tuesday at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery with Navy Honors. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday at Foundation United Methodist Church with Chaplain Judy Gotcher officiating.

Mr. Baumbach died Wednesday at his residence.

Mr. Baumbach was born in Old Glory to Cecil Baumbach and Ella Teichelman Baumbach. He graduated from Granger High School and from Temple Junior College with an Associates Degree in Electronics. He married Natsuko Chiba September 20, 1961. He served in the United States Navy and retired from there in 1979. He served in the Vietnam era. After retirement he worked for the City of Temple as an electrician and with traffic signals, having retired in 1998. He was a Lutheran, a member of the Elks Club, National Rifle Association and was former President of the Temple Bowling Association. He moved to Moody in 1980.

Mr. Baumbach was preceded in death by his twin sister Gloria Faye Baumbach and one brother Stanley Baumbach.

Survivors include his wife Natsuko Baumbach of Moody; two sons Robert Baumbach of Round Rock and Douglas Baumbach of Temple; one daughter Kathleen Baumbach of Round Rock; one brother Delton Baumbach of Mineral Wells; one sister Romadene Mohel of Taylor and three grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to American Heart Association or to the Wounded Warrior Poject.

Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Monday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home.
